Ecuador is known for its diversity, from exuberant rainforests and awe inspiring volcanic landscapes to marvelous traditions, gastronomy and culture. In its small territory many different indigenous groups provide a lot of cultural elements to make this country so unique.

One of these elements are their traditional markets located all along the Andes Region, in which the mixture of colors, sounds and smells create a magic atmosphere. Otavalo is one of the better-known markets in Ecuador. Most of markets are held during the weekends, though there are markets that take place on weekdays, thousands of locals and indigenous gather to sell their crafts and natural products.
